What to do if you are restless and have trouble falling asleep:

7 steps to inner calm

1.  Get into comfortable clothing.

2.  Make sure the temperature is fine, cuddle into a blanket.

3.  Get into a comfortable position – sit in any comfy chair, couch or bed – if you prefer to lie down, just do so, you might get tired and fall asleep.

4.  Be sure you won't get disturbed by any phone calls , your cat or    whatever – for at least half an hour. Turn off your phone, this is YOUR time!

5.  Close your eyes and take slow, deep breaths.

6.  Try to rid your mind of any feelings of fear, stress or anxiety.
At first you might find it difficult not to think. Thoughts may still intrude, then observe them impartially and let them slip away.

7.  Then turn on some chill-out music, dive into a journey of imagination or listen to a fairytale.

I had to think of my elder sister by writing this post. She has been working very hard in the past few months or even years. Sometimes she forgot to take breaks, a little time out. She looked pale and rather thin because of too much stress. But this was before she got started with meditation, and I tried it and: it works!
Relaxing through self-hypnosis and meditation are good for body, soul and spirit. Try it!
You'll see, you will soon feel relaxed and fall asleep.

Why I should be happy and grateful for every single moment...

1. My family that will always stay close to me.

2. My best friends 'cause I can be sure I can rely on them.

3. My reason – I am able to reflect on situations, to keep memories in mind and to find new solutions for tricky challenges.

4. My health – the most important thing in life; in EVERYONE'S LIFE!

5. My eyes so I can see all those colourful flowers and the beauty of this world.

6. My sense of taste – so I can taste these delicious fruits in summer and the sweetness of my life.

7. My sense of hearing – I should be pleased about the incredible chance to listen to the voices of beloved man.

8. My sense of smell so I got the ability to enjoy the fragrance of a flowery meadow.

9. My hands so I can write letters to stay in contact with beloved man, to write my own book and to write a new post ;)

10. My voice because I love singing; in the shower, while playing the piano and while going for a walk...

11. My breath that will last me a lifetime

12. Fears, worries and disappointments so I can grow with them.

13. Sunshine – go and have a picnic by the river!

14. Tears which express my emotions better than my words.

15. Pain helps me getting stronger.

16. Watching movies on rainy days.

17. Books – I love forgetting the outside world for a while and entering a world of fantasy.

18. Music – I enjoy wild dancing in the living room without thinking of tomorrow.

19. Blogs so I can share my thoughts with people who have similar interests.

20. My home – a place of refuge where I feel safe.

21. My bed – it really is the greatest bed, it's so cosy.

22. My soulmates with whom I have an almost spiritual connection - they love me, support me and last but not least understand me no matter what I am going through.

23. My enemies that challenge me and help me getting a better person.

24. My faults – I can learn lessons from past failures.

25. The smile of a stranger – this might light up a rainy day.

26. My laughter that fills life with joy and satisfaction..

27. Love reminds me of being alive.

28. We should love everything about our life...things we already experienced and adventures that are going to fulfil our lives in the future.
